AZ Rotary group Child Trafficking Task Force: Prevention, Legislation and Survivor support

My interest in Human Trafficking goes back several years to marches and meeting with agencies working against Human Trafficking.  I was angered to the point of action by the presence of organizations and individuals that are continuing to take advantage of our youth for sexual and labor trafficking in Arizona.

I was inspired by the Rotary Club of Verrado’s efforts and started working to get District level support for an expanded effort as I was confident that there are many Rotary Clubs across our District and Arizona that would want to be involved.

My efforts have been focused on expanding the lessons learned by Rotary Club of Verrado efforts to other sections of the Phoenix Metro area using other Rotary Clubs, creating opportunities for recovery and rehabilitation of survivors with Rotary projects at Dream Center of Phoenix and finally encouraging legislative actions to increase awareness and make stricter punishments for the arrested individuals involved in trafficking.
