Stacey Sutherland

Prevention is better than rescue!  Training resources online and in person…how can you help spread it?

Bio
Stacey Sutherland is the Director of Programs for TRUST Arizona, (Training and Resources United to Stop Trafficking).  She has extensive experience conducting human trafficking related training across the country in multiple disciplines, including medical, mental health, child welfare, victim services, and law enforcement.

One of her passions is working with rural communities to build local resources to serve the victims of human trafficking.

She has an undergraduate degree in Sociology and Political Science from Arizona State University, and started her anti-trafficking work by jumping in and building a regional human trafficking program. She has also created an online Child Trafficking awareness course with certification upon completion.

Stacey was a nominee for the Arizona Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence THRIVE award:   and she is the recipient of the Guara Award for Advocacy and Outreach.

Stacey was selected to provide live Zoom training for the Rotary Club of Verrado Child Sex Trafficking Awareness Task Force to launch their Trafficking Awareness campaign for the Greater Buckeye / West Valley area in August of 2019.  She has also provided Zoom training for the Buckeye Youth Council, resulting in an official 2020 proclamation designating January as Child Sex Trafficking Awareness Month for the City of Buckeye.
